Historic sites, old houses, arcades, and city squares, including the Fire Tower and Orsolya Square, are within walking distance. Sopron’s ancient enclosed town core was surrounded by walls and moats as early as the 14th century. The line of the streets follows the city wall. In the 16th century, the city had only two entrances: the Front Gate to the north and the Rear Gate to the south-east. The present appearance of the city centre was created after the great fire of 1676. In Új street there is the Fire Tower, in Templom Street the Evangelical Church, in Arms Street the Church of St. Orsolya.
The accommodation is located in the immediate vicinity of all these, between the “Várkerület” and the “Várfal-sétány”.
The building is a historical monument from 1773, renovated with modern amenities while preserving its historical charm. The four-axis façade is well laid out, enriched by pink ceramic tiling and architectural elements carved in stone. The property was purchased by its current owners in 2017 and underwent a 7-year complete renovation, preserving its historic atmosphere and modern 21st century design.
Two options are available near our accomodation: 1. off street outdoor parking directly in front of the property. Outdoor parking is chargeable (480 HUF/hour) from Monday to Friday (max. 3 hours during the day) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. from 6 p.m. on Friday and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekends FREE OF CHARGE. 2. Árpád street (Sopron, Árpád u. 5.) parking garage (about 350 meters away): 1 hour day: 400 HUF, night: 200 HUF. For parking for more than 6 hours and up to 24 hours: 2.400 Ft.
